THE COMMEMORATION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY

We cannot know for certain when the Mother of God was born, but for almost 15 century now, Catholic Church on 8^th September commemorate the feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. (Note that it is only John the Baptist and Blessed Virgin Mary are the only saints the church commemorate their birthday.)

According to the protoevangelium of James and the apocryphal text from the late second century AD, saints Joachim and Anne where the parent of Virgin Mary. The both parent have a long childless marriage, according to the Gospel of James before they gave birth to Mary.

BRIEF HISTORY OFF THE FEAST OF NATIVITY OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY

Traditionally, the feast Nativity of Mary is  celebrate as liturgical feast in the General Roman Catholic calendar, in most of Anglican Liturgical calendar, the Western Rite Orthodox church, the Byzantine rite Orthodox and other non-roman Catholic churches; also celebrate the Nativity of the THEOTOKOS  on the 8 September , nine months after the solemnity of her Immaculate conception.

The first liturgical commemoration is connected with the 6^th century dedication of the basilica Sactae Maria Ubi Nata ep now called the church of St. Anne. They are other significant documentation gave rise to the commemoration of the feast.

PRAYER’S

 Oh most beautiful flower of Mount Carmel, fruitful vine, splendour of Heaven, Blessed Mother of the Son of God, Immaculate Virgin, assist me in my necessity. O Star of the Sea, help me and show me here you are my mother. Oh Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and Earth, I humbly beseech Thee from the bottom of my heart to secure me in my necessity. (Make your request) There are none that can withstand your power. O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to Thee. (repeat three times) Holy Mary, I place this cause in Your hands. (repeat three times)
